Location
Situated on the sea side of the famous Great Ocean Road and tucked away in a beautiful, secluded, natural bushland setting, Anglesea Recreation Camp is only 1.5 hours drive from the Melbourne CBD. Melways reference map 196 H5.
Local Attractions
Anglesea Recreation Camp is within easy access to a multitude of attractions on the Surf Coast. Highlights include:
- Lorne's growing array of cafes and boutique shops, Erskine Falls and rainforest walks.
- Airey's Inlet's famous Split Point Lighthouse. The lighthouse had a starring role in the TV show "Round the Twist", and has some of the best views on the coast as well as a fascinating history.
- Anglesea is surrounded by long sandy beaches - the Great Otway National Park - and it's where the Great Ocean Road first winds its way down to the sea to provide one of the world's best scenic drives. During Spring you can view the superb native flowers and rare orchids that bloom in and around Anglesea. Try your luck fishing on the Anglesea River or enjoy a round of golf on the famous Anglesea Golf Course where the kangaroos graze happily on its fairways. Anglesea also has a number of popular surfing spots, but if you can't surf, Anglesea is the best place to learn, you can try a surf lesson with one of the local surf schools.

The per person cost of a camp will vary depending on how many nights, meals and activities are to be provided during your stay.
What to Bring
Sleeping bag or sheets and doona, pillow, bath towel, beach towel and bathers, old sneakers if your going canoeing or rock pooling, personal toiletries including sunscreen, shorts, t-shirts, windcheater, tracksuit pants, warm jumper/jacket, waterproof jacket, sleep wear, hat, camera.

Access and Parking
There is good access to the camp from the main car park. Parking is available for 40 cars in total and we encourage groups to car pool whenever possible. Buses are able to access the camp via a circular driveway.
Security
To ensure your security and safety we have a duty manager on call 24 hours a day during your stay. We recommend that you leave valuables at home.
Safety
It is the responsibility of each group to ensure that campers understand and follow the campsite's general rules.
Each group must have a competent leader in charge to liaise with campsite staff. The YMCA recommends a ratio of one leader to ten campers. Groups are responsible for their own first aid.
