Accommodation and Facilities

Mt Evelyn Recreation Camp offers flexible accommodation for groups of up to 130 people. Our main accommodation block is split into two levels and offers a unique and comfortable camp experience.

Mt Evelyn high ropes course

Our accommodation features: 

  • Single bunk beds in all rooms

  • Rooms suitable for four to 12 people

  • Additional trundle beds

  • Central heating

  • Separate male and female accommodation wings

Upper level accommodation

The upper level accommodation looks out over the camp and sleeps up to 95 people across two wings.

The upper level features:

  • Two bedroom sleeping four to 12 people

  • Centrally located amenities

  • Leaders lounge with fireplace

  • Balcony overlooking the camp.

Lower level accommodation

The lower level accommodation sleeps 36 people and ideal for groups with accessibility requirements.

This accommodation features:

  • Six rooms sleeping six people

  • Centrally located amenities

  • Close access to dining room and kitchen

  • Wheelchair access, including shower and toilet

Facilities

Mt Evelyn Recreation Camp offers an extensive range of outdoor, indoor and conference facilities designed to make your stay as comfortable and stress-free as possible.

From our heated outdoor swimming pool to our stunning natural trails, our facilities provide a first-rate camping experience for groups of all ages and abilities.  

Indoor and outdoor facilities

During your stay with us, you’ll have access to a wide range of fun outdoor leisure facilities including:

  • Solar-heated outdoor swimming pool

  • Basketball, tennis and volleyball courts

  • Grassed oval and sensory garden 

  • Nature trails

  • Creek and bridge to view the resident platypus, native crayfish and eels

  • Ga-ga pit

Should you be faced with a rainy day, you can access a range of indoor facilities suitable for all types of groups including our:   

  • Board games

  • Table tennis

  • Circus art

  • Movies (bring your own)

Conference and meeting facilities

Our fully equipped conference and meeting facilities cater to all your professional needs. Groups can meet in a number of meeting spaces including our:

  • Recreation hall (seats 150 people) or

  • Dining room (seats 130 people)

Our rooms can be used for meetings, conferences or indoor recreational activities.

Recreation hall

Ideal for short meetings or longer conferences, our recreation hall is equipped with:

  • Projector screen available for hire, data projector and whiteboard

  • IPod dock, DVD player and CD player

  • Microphone

  • Additional tables

  • Heating and cooling

  • Wireless Access

Dining room

Our dining hall also has an adjustable wall to allow the room to split into two which seat 40 and 90 people. The dining hall is equipped with:

  • Projector screen, data projector and whiteboard

  • IPod dock, DVD Player and CD player

  • Microphone

  • Additional tables

  • Heating and cooling

  • Wireless Access

During breaks in programs or free time, guests can use our outdoor and indoor recreation facilities.

Parking, programming, supervision and valuables

  • Groups can also book or organise in advance for YMCA-led activities. Please see the activities page for more information. 

  • Ample parking is available on site for both cars and buses and can be accessed via the main entrance.

  • The camp has a Duty Manager on call 24 hours a day; however we recommend that you have one leader to each 10 campers in your group.

  • While our camp is a safe and respectful place, we recommend you leave valuables at home.
